Semarang, 23/9 The increasing number of Covid-19 patients in Indonesia has made the government take a policy to tighten social distancing. All activities that are carried out directly (offline) are changed to online. Although all activities are carried out online, this does not stop the creativity of UNDIP students from continuing to work during the Covid-19 Pandemic. UNDIP students consisting of Amanda Elista (Public Administration 2017), Dwi Nur Rachmawati (Governance Studies 2017), Zharfan Akbar Andriawan (Informatics 2017), Haris Fadilah (Informatics 2017), and Steven Joseph Ryhadi (Informatics 2017). Being supervised by a Lecturer of Public Administration UNDIP FISIP, namely Dr. Budi Puspo Priyadi M. Hum, they succeeded in creating the SIAP Bergota website which could help create an online funeral service information system at the Bergota Public Cemetry.
The idea arose due to the complexity of the old service system which forced people to come directly to the Bergota TPU. The system was considered difficult for the community so the SIAP Bergota website was made to facilitate online funeral services. In addition to facilitating the service system, the online Bergota cemetery management information system is also deemed suitable to be used during the Covid-19 Pandemic. It can reduce the spread of Covid-19 in Semarang City, and it is hoped that this website can be useful for Bergota Public Cemetery caretakers.
The process of creating the SIAP Bergota website was entirely done online, from the creation of the concept through a series of virtual meetings using the MS Teams, Line, Google meet and WA applications. The website creation was also done online with a coding job-sharing system by IT members, then the coding results were put back together to produce the SIAP Bergota website.
The SIAP Bergota website consists of various features, namely features for submitting funeral permits services, cemetery retribution fees, Bergota articles, “visiting the cemetery”, looking for ancestors, caretakers and our contacts. The permission service submission feature serves to apply for a cemetery permit order at the Bergota Public Cemetery. Where, the applicant or the public is required to fill out the form for the type of permit requested, the name of the body to be buried, the name of the heir, cellphone number and choose the location of the available grave. The retribution fee feature contains details of the funeral retribution fees that must be paid along with the length of the funeral. Meanwhile, the Bergota article feature contains various articles about the Bergota Public Cemetery including the latest news about the Bergota Public Cemetery and the most special feature of the SIAP Bergota website is the “Grave View” feature. This feature consists of several submenus including the grave condition submenu, the grave cleaning submenu, and the placing flowers submenu.
First, the grave condition sub-menu is a sub-menu that contains online monitoring of the condition of the family’s grave in the form of photos of the condition of the family’s grave. Visitors can find out the condition of the grave without having to come to the Bergota Public Cemetery. From their house, the community or website visitors can see the condition of their family’s grave. Photos of the condition of the family’s grave will be updated by the website administrator after the user submits a photo request of the condition of the grave.
Second, the grave cleaning submenu is a submenu that contains the cleaning service of the family’s graves. It will be carried out by the grave caretaker, users can ask the grave caretaker to clean their family’s graves by paying a certain rate. The grave cleaning service will be carried out after the user pays a certain rate, then the user will be sent a photo that their family’s grave which has been cleaned.
Third, the placing flower submenu is a submenu that contains a service for placing flowers on a family’s graves. Users can ask the grave caretaker to spread flowers on their family’s graves by paying a certain rate. The placing flowers service will be carried out after the user pays the fee, then the user will be sent a photo that their family’s grave with flowers on it. Of course, all the services in the “Grave View” feature will be carried out by the Grave Caretakers at a certain rate. This feature comes with the concern of economic empowerment for the Bergota Community, most of whom work as Grave Caretakers. Through the various services available in the “Grave View” feature, it is hoped that it can generate potential economic coffers for Bergota residents.
Meanwhile, in the search for ancestors feature, users can search for their family ancestors by entering their ancestral names in the system, then the names of their family ancestors will appear. Finally, with the caretaker feature, users can find out the names of caretakers who can be contacted to find out the condition of their family’s graves. In our contact feature, users can complain about all their problems regarding funeral services at the Bergota Public Cemetery. The process of making the SIAP Bergota website is still ongoing because it requires monitoring, improvement, development and coordination with the community, government or related agencies and the cemetery caretakers. However, through the SIAP Bergota website, it is expected that it can facilitate the public to access the grave services online, help the cemetery caretakers to create an effective, efficient and accountable grave management, support the Semarang City Government in realizing the “Smart City” concept, boost the economy of the community to create a better life for the Bergota Community.
