A team from Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), led by Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si, a lecturer in Public Administration at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and an expert in Public Governance, is collaborating with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) to design a model for addressing stunting. This initiative aims to create a holistic and scientifically-based public service innovation model, expected to accelerate the reduction of stunting prevalence in Indonesia. The team is also strengthened by Farid Agushybana, S.KM., DEA., Ph.D., an expert in Biostatistics and Demography, and M. Indra Hadi Wijaya Karta Wijaya, S.T., MPWK., an expert in Regional and Urban Planning, who contribute their expertise in technical and strategic aspects to ensure that the developed model is scientifically sound and applicable.

This initiative comprises several critical stages, including innovation visits, discussions with innovators, and knowledge-sharing sessions with relevant experts and specialists. A key point in the development of this model is the involvement of local governments alongside the Health Department and Community Health Centers (Puskesmas). Tegal Regency and Banyumas Regency were selected as role models because both regions are part of the Top 99 Public Service Innovation Competition (KIPP) held annually by the PANRB Ministry.

As part of this initiative, the Undip team also held discussions with local governments and related institutions to align the stunting handling model with on-the-ground realities, ensuring that the model is relevant and can be implemented sustainably. The involvement of experts, innovators, and local governments enriches the model development process, ensuring that the final product will be widely accepted and effective in reducing stunting prevalence in the community.

Through the synergy between stakeholders, this stunting handling model is expected to become an innovative and effective solution that contributes to the acceleration of stunting reduction in the future.
