April 26, 2021

Safari Kurma is one of the work programs of the Public Administration Study Program’s Student Association which is directly organized by the sector 3, namely the Student Welfare and Community Service (Kesmapekat). This Safari Kurma is an annual program that is always carried out by the association every time we enter the holy month of Ramadan. Last year Safari Kurma activity could not be held due to the pandemic, yet we could still carry out the event this year. Obviously, it was held by complying the health protocol which had been stated by the Semarang Government.

This activity consists of sharing the meals on the streets on the first day of Ramadan, and breaking the fast with the children at the orphanage on the second day. Not only that, to support this activity, the Public Administration Student Association opens the donations to all people without discriminating their backgrounds in order to help the less fortunate relatives. Safari Kurma is not only a work program, but it becomes the form of the embodiment of the Tri Dhrama of higher education that has been carried out by the association, namely the community service. In the future, it is expected that the community service activities like this can be carried out as it is intended to be and produce the benefits not only for the internal of the Public Administration Student Association, but the society as a whole.
