Semarang (11/20) – Bachelor of Public Administration study program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro has just held a Guest Lecturer with the theme “Policy Brief and Policy Paper Theory and Practice”. The activity, which took place on Saturday, October 8, 2022, was carried out through a Zoom meeting and was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students in Public Administration and the general public. This Guest Lecturer presented Dr. Bevaola Kusumasari (Chairman of the Public Administration Study Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada) as the speaker.

In her material, Dr Bevaola said that the purpose of this lecture was to prepare students with knowledge related to preparing policy briefs and policy papers. She also hoped that in the future students could distribute this knowledge to those who needed it. Furthermore, the lecturer who was also known as Mrs. Ola explained the details regarding the preparation of the Policy Brief and Policy Paper. According to her, a good Policy Brief should be light (could be understood by all parties) yet clear enough to convey the message it carries (notable). In addition, a Policy Brief’s strength was its concise and clear graphics. In this activity, participants also had the opportunity to compose their own Policy Brief and Policy Paper which Mrs Ola would respond directly to.
