Strengthening Gedongmulyo BUMDes, Lecturer from the Department of Public Administration FISIP Undip Provides Institutional Governance Mentoring Towards a Sustainable Institution

Rembang – A team of lecturers from the Department of Public Administration carried out a community service program focused on strengthening the institutional capacity of the Village-Owned Enterprise in Gedongmulyo Village, Lasem District, Rembang Regency. The activity, held at the Gedongmulyo Village Office on Tuesday (21/10/2025), was titled “Mentoring for the Organizational Development of Gedongmulyo Village BUMDes, Lasem District, Rembang Regency Towards a Sustainable Institution.”

This activity aims to provide strategic mentoring to BUMDes managers and village officials to develop the BUMDes organization into an independent, professional, and sustainable institution.

The community service program was led by Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si., a public governance expert from the Department of Public Administration. In his presentation, Dr. Amni emphasized the importance of a strong organizational foundation to ensure the future sustainability of the BUMDes.

He outlined four fundamental pillars that BUMDes must focus on to transform into a sustainable institution.

“There are four main pillars,” explained Dr. Amni. “First, enhancing the capacity of management human resources. Second, the importance of Creative Business Diversification to avoid dependency on a single income source. Third, the ability to build Collaboration and Networks; and fourth, equally important, is gaining Community Involvement and Trust.”

Dr. Amni also highlighted that BUMDes development cannot be done partially but must involve all village elements. According to him, active citizen participation is the key to success.

“BUMDes development is a collective journey whose success depends on the active participation and innovative spirit of the community,” he affirmed before the participants.

In implementing this program, Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman was accompanied by a solid team of lecturers from the Department of Public Administration. Also present in the team were Dr. Dra. Dyah Lituhayu, M.Si.Dra. Maesaroh, M.Si.Juang Abdi Muhammad, S.AP., M.AP.Mochamad Rizki Fitrianto, M.AP., and Asih Widi Lestari, S.AP., M.AP.

This activity also involved the active participation of students as part of implementing the university’s tri dharma. Two students from the Department of Public Administration, Nur Khamidah and Balqis Nabila Mumtaz, assisted with the technical and administrative smooth running of the activity.

This mentoring activity is expected to provide new insights and a practical framework for Gedongmulyo BUMDes to formulate more targeted and sustainable organizational development strategies.
