Publikisme 2025: “Algorithms and Our Public Sphere: Assessing the Development of Digitalization and Governance in Indonesia”

Semarang, (12/09) – The Student Association of the Public Administration Study Program, Universitas Diponegoro, held its annual event, Publikisme 2025. Carrying the theme Algorithms and Our Public Sphere: Assessing the Development of Digitalization and Governance in Indonesia,” the event provided a forum for discussion and academic growth among students, academics, and the public.

Publikisme 2025 featured a series of activities, including the National Essay Competition, the Rector’s Cup National Debate Competition, and a National Seminar. The activities ran  from August 29 to September 12, 2025, involving participants from various regions. In the debate competition, the Grand Final brought together teams from UGM and UNDIP. The match was intense, with UNDIP winning 1st Place and UGM finishing as 2nd Place. The event not only tested participants’ debating skills but also sharpened students’ critical thinking and teamwork.

Chief Organizer, Azzahra Ananda Budyawati, hopes that Publikisme would become a space for critical and inspiring learning. “We want students not only to understand the development of digitalization but also to be able to make real contributions toward more equitable public governance,” she said. With the active participation of attendees and full support from the academic community, Publikisme 2025 is expected to generate fresh ideas beneficial to society and strengthen the role of the younger generation as agents of change amid the rapid wave of digitalization.
