Lecturers from the Department of Public Administration FISIP UNDIP Participate in International Conference in Bangkok and Sign MOA with Thammasat Institute

On June 20–23, 2025, three lecturers from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University participated in a prestigious international conference held in Bangkok, Thailand. The lecturers were Dr. AP. Dra. Tri Yuniningsih, M.Si., Dr. A. Rina Herawati, and Azaria Eda, S.A.P., M.Si. Their presence represented UNDIP academically in the forum carrying the theme “Asia-Pacific Future: Opportunities for Connectivity.”

The conference was attended by academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The raised theme reflected the urgency and great potential of the Asia-Pacific region in building inter-country and inter-sectoral connectivity, especially in the era of ongoing digitalization and globalization. Throughout the event, participants engaged in panel discussions covering various strategic topics related to governance, sustainable development, and the role of higher education institutions in promoting cross-border collaboration.

In addition to academic activities, a significant moment also took place through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Diponegoro University and TIARA (Thammasat Institute of Area Studies), Thailand. This collaboration aims to strengthen international cooperation in the fields of research, academic exchange, and curriculum development relevant to the challenges of the Asia-Pacific region. The MOA signing is expected to be a gateway to increasing student and faculty mobility, the organization of joint programs, as well as broader international publications.

This conference was the result of collaboration among various renowned institutions and associations, such as the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA), Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Politeknik STIA LAN Bandung (NIPA), TIARA, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), ASPAP, University of the Philippines, Indian Studies Center, Chulalongkorn University, Philippines Society for Public Administration, National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP), and the Association of Schools in Public Administration in the Philippines.

The participation of lecturers from the Department of Public Administration in this international forum is proof of FISIP UNDIP’s commitment to strengthening its academic role and contribution at the global level. Active involvement in international conferences and collaborations also supports the internationalization of study programs and the enhancement of the institution’s reputation on the world stage.
