SEMARANG (9/9) — The Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), continues to strengthen its international network by pioneering the initiation of a double degree and joint degree program with the University of the Philippines Diliman. The initiated program includes a double degree for the Master’s Program in Public Administration and a joint degree for the Doctoral Program in Public Administration at FISIP Undip. Both programs are designed to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and experience from two leading institutions in Southeast Asia.

In addition, the meeting also discussed the potential for a credit transfer system and student exchange for students of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Public Administration. This plan is expected to facilitate cultural and knowledge exchange, enrich students’ learning experiences, and prepare them to become global leaders in the future.

According to the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration, Retna Hanani, S.Sos, MPP, this collaboration is a significant step forward in enhancing the academic reputation of FISIP Undip at the global level. “This program is not only about degrees but also about creating a more dynamic and competitive academic ecosystem,” she said.

Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, M.Si, who also serves as the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program and member of the Public Governance Research Group, welcomed this collaboration. He emphasized that this initiative is an important step in preparing graduates capable of competing globally.

This will certainly complement their theoretical understanding with practical experience in the field from a global perspective,” he said.

This initiative is expected to become a solid foundation for a long-term partnership between FISIP Undip and UP Diliman, opening doors for more collaborative research projects, joint publications, and curriculum development relevant to the challenges of public administration in the contemporary era.
