FISIP UNDIP once again provided an inspiring learning space through the Guest Lecture of the Public Sector Collaboration Study Group (KBK), held online on September 1–2, 2025.

The event opened with warm remarks from Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., Dean of FISIP UNDIP, who emphasized the vital role of universities in strengthening public governance amid global challenges. “Cross-sector collaboration is not merely an academic slogan, but a real necessity to realize governance that is just, adaptive, and people-oriented,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Prof. Hardi Warsono, M.T., Head of the Public Sector Collaboration KBK, added that this event reflects FISIP UNDIP’s commitment to expanding academic networks while contributing applicable research.

The keynote speaker, Dr. phil. Arif Budy Pratama (Universitas Tidar), shared insights on the complexities of urban governance, particularly regarding illegal settlements. According to him, “The phenomenon of tolerance toward illegal settlements is not merely a legal issue, but also a social and political matter that requires a collaborative approach.”

The discussion was further enriched by members of the Public Sector Collaboration KBK: Dr. Dra. Retno Sunu Astuti, M.Si., Irfan Murtadho Yusuf, S.A.P., MPM, and Mochamad Rizki Fitrianto, M.AP.

The themes raised were highly relevant to contemporary issues:

  • Forbearance in Urban Governance: The Case of Unsanctioned Illegal Settlement (September 1, 2025)
  • Advancing Technocratic Capacity in Local Climate Policy: Insights From Theory of Planned Behavior & Participatory Learning and Action (September 2, 2025)

The moderator, Juang Abdi Muhammad, S.AP., M.AP., highlighted that this forum serves as an important platform to bridge theory and policy practice. “This discussion is our way of building technocratic capacity that is not only theoretical but also practical. Collaboration is the key to addressing the challenges of urban governance and climate change,” he explained.

Through this Guest Lecture, FISIP UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to continuously providing academic forums with real impact, while preparing young generations to be literate, adaptive, and ready to face the challenges of sustainable development.
