WONOSOBO (September 23) — Facing increasingly competitive market demands, Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) must undergo transformation to remain globally competitive. Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, M.Si., a public governance expert from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University, shared his insights during the Media Visit of the Jury Panel for the TOP BUMD AWARD 2025.

The event, held at the office of PDAM Tirta Aji Wonosobo on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, served as an important forum for BUMD leaders. Dr. Amni emphasized that institutional governance is a long-term investment to transform BUMD into modern companies that are transparent, accountable, and efficient.
“Governance is a strategic investment, not a cost. Therefore, implementing strong governance is the only way for BUMD to survive and grow in the long term,” said Dr. Amni.

This knowledge-sharing session became particularly significant with the participation of representatives from various BUMD across the Kedu Residency, including Bank Jateng, Bank Wonosobo, PT BPR BKK Wonosobo, and PT Tambi. Their active involvement reflected the strong enthusiasm and commitment of regional enterprises to improving governance quality.

In addition, representatives from several regional water companies (PDAM)—including those from Magelang Regency, Magelang City, Temanggung, Kebumen, and Purworejo—also joined the event. The participation of these well-established BUMD highlighted that the event was not just a discussion forum but also a strategic platform for exchanging insights and best practices in building more professional and competitive BUMD.

Dr. Amni’s active involvement demonstrated FISIP Undip’s commitment to making a real contribution to regional development through research and the application of knowledge. It is hoped that the insights shared will inspire BUMD across Indonesia to continuously improve and enhance their quality for regional advancement and collective welfare.
