Collaboration between Diponegoro University and Pokdarwis to Optimize Natural Potential for Strengthening Coastal Economy through Sustainable Tourism in Punjulharjo Village, Rembang Regency

Rembang, Thursday, May 15, 2025 — Punjulharjo Village in Rembang Regency is known for its beautiful coastal landscape that attracts numerous tourists. To enhance the coastal economy, the Public Administration Department, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, conducted a community service program in Punjulharjo Village.

The activity, themed “Karangjahe Ecotourism: Optimizing Natural Potential to Strengthen the Coastal Economy through Sustainable Tourism”, was led by Prof. Dr. Dra. Kismartini, M.Si., with the following research team members: Prof. Dr. Hartuti Purnaweni, MPA, Dra. Nina Widowati, M.Si., Azaria Eda Pradana, S.A.P., M.A.P., and Yoga Aldi Saputra, S.A.P., MPA, who also served as speakers in the discussion and socialization sessions.

This community service was a collaboration between lecturers and students from both the undergraduate and master’s programs in Public Administration. Participating students included Muhammad Yanwar Darmadi Putra, S.A.P., from the Master’s Program in Public Administration, and Bunga Kaliza Ratuwizta, from the Undergraduate Public Administration Program at the Rembang Extension Campus (PSDKU).

The event was officially opened by the Head of Punjulharjo Village, Mr. Moh. Akrom, and was also attended by the Head of the local Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and managers of Karangjahe Beach. The program concluded with a door prize distribution and a group photo session.

Through this activity, the community is expected to optimize the village’s natural resources to enhance the local economy while maintaining sustainability.
