Yogyakarta, November 13, 2024 – The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to finalize public service innovation models at the Swiss-Belboutique Hotel in Yogyakarta. The event aimed to refine three proposed innovation models, namely the Public Service Innovation Model for Stunting Management, the Public Service Innovation Model for Inflation Control, and the Public Service Innovation Model for Promoting Domestic Product Utilization (P3DN).

The event, which commenced at 8:00 AM local time, opened with remarks from the Assistant Deputy for Coordination and Facilitation of Best Practice Development Strategies in Public Services. The official highlighted the importance of innovation in enhancing public service quality. “Constructive feedback from prior sessions will serve as the foundation to produce truly applicable documents, ensuring these models can become holistic and integrated learning references for government agencies,” they remarked.

During the main session, a team of ten academics and practitioners from Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Indonesia, and Universitas Gadjah Mada presented their draft innovation model books. The presentations were followed by interactive discussions and Q&A sessions involving all participants.

Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si., a member of the team drafting the Public Service Innovation Model for Stunting Management and a public governance expert from Universitas Diponegoro, underscored the importance of synergy and inter-agency governance in stunting management innovations, given the multidimensional nature of the issue spanning health and education. Amni also emphasized the need for effective and sustainable implementation of the models. “This finalization is not merely the conclusion of drafting modules but marks the beginning of concrete steps toward better public services,” he stated.

The FGD is a strategic initiative by KemenPANRB to realize innovative and responsive bureaucratic reforms addressing public needs. Previously, KemenPANRB developed three models: the Public Service Innovation Model for Poverty Alleviation, the Public Service Innovation Model for Investment Promotion, and the Public Service Innovation Model for the Digitalization of Government Administration.
