On Saturday (May 18), team 2 of Public Administration students from Diponegoro University conducted an independent study activity at the Creative Peace Tourism Village (DWKP), Srumbung Gunung Hamlet, Poncoruso Village, Bawen, Semarang Regency. This tourist village has been established through Poncoruso Village Regulation Number 06 of 2020 and is managed by Pokdarwis based on the Decree of the Head of Poncoruso Village No. 180.19/01/1/2019. The achievements obtained by DWKP Dusun Srumbung Gunung are included in the top 300 national tourist villages in 2022 and 2023.

This activity was led by Dafa Riansyah (Public Administration class of 2022) along with 18 other members: Rivalin Arshanda, Nabilla Putri Kailany, Muhammad Reza Adi Pratama, Muhammad Daffa Alfirrosy, Naila Danicha Sapphire, Kania Putri Julia, Vegananda Restu Barunawati, Raka Pradhana Arditya, Julieta Maharani, Fabio Aryaduta, Veronica Gisca, Sahira Mardarena, Cindy Aulia Nikensy, Ranupane Irgi Fachrezi, Karen Citra Yehuni, Steven Agustian, Chindi Claudia Dearni Purba, and Khairunisa Intan Nursita. The activity was supervised by Renata Jati Nirmala, S.IAN., MPA, a lecturer from the Department of Public Administration at Diponegoro University.

This activity aims to develop the tourism village through community service by inviting Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si as a speaker. The target audience included village officials, (Tourism Awareness Groups Pokdarwis), the village-owned enterprise (Bumdes), and the local community. The event consisted of socialization and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). During the socialization session, Amni Zarkasyi Rahman explained the importance of the four pillars of tourism village development according to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno: product, place, price, and promotion. This was followed by the second speaker, Eko Widodo, the head of Pokdarwis, who discussed the development and work plans of Pokdarwis and DWKP. The third speaker was Mrs. Erytrina, the owner of Batik Ciprat SME, who also provided insight into the iconic souvenirs of the tourist village.

The FGD was led by Renata Jati Nirmala with assistance from students as facilitators. The discussion focused on the potentials and challenges in developing the tourism village. Some issues identified included institutional, governance, and tourism management aspects that were not yet optimal. However, DWKP Srumbung Gunung Hamlet has great potential in natural beauty, community support, and support from village officials and Bumdes.

Hopefully, this service activity can help develop the potential of Srumbung Gunung Tourism Village. Promotion was carried out by students through the making profile videos, promotional videos on TikTok, and a leaflet of tour packages which were handed over to village officials and tourism village managers as promotional media. In addition, policy papers were produced from socialization and FGDs that can be used as consideration and recommendations for tourism development by related parties.
