Department of Public Administration FISIP Undip Holds Financial Management Training for MSMEs in Jabungan

The Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, has once again carried out a community service activity as a manifestation of academics’ commitment to supporting the empowerment of MSME actors. Entitled “Optimization of MSME Finance and Administration Through Financial Management and Bookkeeping Training in Jabungan Village,” this activity was held on November 21, 2025, in the Hall of Jabungan Village, Banyumanik District, Semarang City.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the Community Service Team, who is also the Head of the Department of Public Administration FISIP Undip, Dr. AP. Tri Yuniningsih. In her speech, she emphasized that strengthening the financial management capacity of MSMEs is a crucial step to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses. She also stressed the importance of collaboration between academics, village government, and MSME actors in creating an orderly, transparent, and sustainable business ecosystem.

This training featured Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, M.A., as the main speaker, who delivered material on simple financial recording, separating business and personal finances, and basic financial report preparation techniques. The 15 participants, consisting of MSME actors from various types of businesses in Jabungan Village, were also directly guided through practical exercises in filling out cash books, daily transaction simulations, and the use of easy-to-implement bookkeeping formats.

In addition to Dr. Tri Yuniningsih and Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, this community service activity also involved team members, namely Nawangsasi Wincahyo, M.A.P., and Renata Jati, MPA, who provided mentoring during the training process.

The participants showed high enthusiasm, especially during the practical sessions and case study discussions that illustrated the financial problems they face daily. Many participants admitted that this was their first time receiving applicable financial management training and expressed hope that similar activities could be held regularly.

Through this activity, the Department of Public Administration FISIP Undip hopes that MSME actors in Jabungan can improve the orderliness of their business administration, strengthen financial recording, and open up opportunities to access capital support and other empowerment programs.

This community service activity is tangible evidence of FISIP Undip’s commitment to bridging knowledge with community needs, while also supporting the development of MSMEs as drivers of the local economy.
