FISIP Undip Establishes International Collaboration with Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea

Kupang, October 28, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Diponegoro University (Undip) has officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and an Implementation Arrangement (IA) with the Global E-Policy and E-Government Institute of Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea. This signing marks a strategic step for FISIP Undip in expanding its international academic and research collaboration network.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., Dean of FISIP Undip, represented by Prof. Hardi Warsono, M.T., and Prof. Taewoo Nam, Ph.D., Dean of the Global E-Policy and E-Government Institute at Sungkyunkwan University.

Under this agreement, both institutions have committed to developing various collaborative activities in the areas of research, scientific publication, international seminars, as well as academic and student exchanges. The collaboration also includes co-authorship of international publications, joint supervision for master’s and doctoral students, and exchange of visiting professors and external examiners.

Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, emphasized that this partnership demonstrates the faculty’s strong commitment to enhancing its global academic reputation.

“This collaboration opens up significant opportunities for our lecturers and students to engage with the international academic ecosystem, particularly in the fields of public administration, digital policy, and e-government,” Teguh stated.

Meanwhile, Prof. Taewoo Nam, Ph.D., highlighted that this partnership aligns with Sungkyunkwan University’s vision to foster cross-border research collaboration.

“We are very excited to work with Undip on research and academic initiatives that can make a global impact,” he remarked.

The agreement will be effective for five years, with a possibility of extension upon mutual consent. The first year will focus on developing a joint research agenda and organizing collaborative seminars involving scholars from both institutions.

Through this partnership, FISIP Undip aims to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global research network while supporting digital transformation in governance across Asia.
